Goa hires Dinesh Mongia as head coach

In a significant move, the Goa Cricket Association appointed JP Yadav as coach of the U-23 team and former India international Dinesh Mongia as head coach of the senior men’s side.

It is noteworthy that Dinesh Mongia played one T20I and 57 ODI as an Indian representative.

He was the coach of Odisha the previous season, but Surendra Bhave took his place, which made him decide to take on the Goa coaching position. In addition, JP Yadav will take over as the U-23 coach in place of Swapnil Asnodkar, and the GCA anticipates that the young players will benefit from his playing experience with India.

Regarding the players, the board has decided to stick with K.V. Siddharth and Arjun Tendulkar, adding Rohan Kadam to the squad following Rahul Tripathi’s return to Maharashtra. To make his relocation to Goa easier, Kadam obtained a NOC from the Karnataka State Cricket Association during the previous season. But Kadam had to pass since the GCA signed Tripathi. This season, he should be featured.

Arjun Tendulkar, who amassed 258 runs and nine wickets in the Ranji Trophy, is said to have been given another chance by the majority of the GCA apex council members.

Additionally, the Tripura Cricket Association brings in talent

The Tripura Cricket Association, on the other side, has included Mandeep Singh and Jiwanjot Singh. However, with Wriddhiman Saha coming back to Bengal, their hunt for a wicketkeeper-batter goes on.

Mandeep Singh has already asked the Punjab Cricket Association for a NOC. We have his NOC application on file. Although it’s undoubtedly a significant loss for Punjab cricket, why should we halt if a player wishes to go in search of better opportunities? Sportstar cited PCA president Amarjeet Singh as saying.

The previous season, Jiwanjot was a player for Uttrakhand, while Mandeep Singh led Punjab to victory last season with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
