'Gill will learn the hard way' - Kaif says clash with Crawley fired up England

During the third Test match against England at Lord’s, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif questioned the mentality of Indian captain Shubman Gill. Gill’s on-field altercation with Zak Crawley prior to Stumps on Day 3 prompted England and captain Ben Stokes to put on a fierce showing on Day 5, according to Kaif.

At the end of Day 3, Shubman criticised Crawley for wasting time and even engaged the batter in a verbal altercation. However, the hosts ended up winning the match by 22 runs, therefore India’s attitude did not benefit them.

England was charged by Shubman altercation with Zak Crawley. Their bowling, batting, and captaincy were questioned following Edgbaston. However, Stokes was energised by that incident and bowled some great spells. It’s a good idea to maintain the mindset that suits you.

Kaif remarked on X, “Gill will have to learn this the hard way.”

When Gill batted on Day 4 in the second innings, former England captain Michael Vaughan maintained that he lacked composure and did not appear technically correct. With a century in the first Test at Headingley and 430 runs in both innings in the Edgbaston Test, Gill was in outstanding form for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

However, despite a comeback by Ravindra Jadeja and the lower-order batsmen, India lost the Lord’s match, which the 25-year-old could only manage 16 and 6.

“I thought that when things became heated on the third night, England played their best for the rest of the match. Vaughan wrote in his column in “The Telegraph” that “Shubman Gill did not look as technically tight or composed as usual when he came out to bat on the fourth evening, but his team fought so hard on Monday in a fabulous Test.”

The fourth game in the five-day series, which England leads 2-1, is scheduled to begin on July 23 in Manchester.
