George Bailey claims he is unsurprised by David Warner's continued drive for runs.

One of Australia‘s all-time best batters is David Warner. The tough cricketer will compete in his third ODI World Cup in India in October and November.

The southpaw has been in outstanding form going into the main event. With 161 runs at an average of 53.67 in the just concluded three-match series against India, Warner placed second overall and first for Australia. David Warner was in excellent form when Australia traveled to South Africa to play five one-day internationals (ODIs), amassing 206 runs at an average of 41.20. The astounding strike rate of the 36-year-old is what sticks out in these two sets. He scored at a strike rate of 127.78 against India, compared to 121.18 against the Proteas.

George Bailey, the men’s selection chair for Australia, was unsurprised by David Warner upping of his game in advance of the World Cup since he recognized that top players prepare themselves for stages like these.

Men’s selection chair George Bailey spoke to Cricket Australia from Thiruvananthapuram, where Australia will play the Netherlands on Saturday, September 30, in a warm-up match. “Not just in the Australian team, but around the world, these are the tournaments that the best players build themselves up for and get excited about,” he said.

“That’s the final test for them to not only demonstrate their abilities on an individual basis but also to support their team in experiencing some really thrilling success. Because of this, Bailey continued, “(I’m) not shocked that he’s gotten started quickly over here with the passion you’d expect from ‘Davey’ and playing extremely well.

We consider Travis Head to be a very crucial player: George Bailey,

After breaking his left hand during the series against South Africa, opening batter Travis Head was unable to play in the first part of the World Cup. Bailey lavished admiration on the left-handed batter and expressed the hope that when he returned to the game later in the competition, he would be crucial.

“Trav is a tremendously important player for us and is unquestionably a member of our starting XI. I’m hoping that when he does, he can make a significant difference near the conclusion of the tournament,” Bailey said.
