Gautam Gambhir, a former cricket player from India, burst out laughing when Rishabh Pant made fun of Rohit Sharma on an episode of The Great India Kapil Show. Pant humorously described Rohit as someone who “calls all the shots” in the squad, even if it’s only due to seniority, during a particularly humorous portion.
Pant responded with, “Who is that one Jethani in the team who orders everyone around and acts bossy?” “That’s how Rohit bhai is,” the wicketkeeper-batter replied, grinning. Rohit bhai is very strong. Haan haan, naam ab lo le lo. (“Go ahead and take his name now that he’s retired!”), making Yuzvendra Chahal and Abhishek Sharma chuckle along with everyone else.
Gautam Gambhir swiftly chimed in, saying, “Ab toh retire ho gaya,” after the remark left the audience inconsolable.

One of the main players in India’s red-ball system, Rohit Sharma just declared his retirement from Test cricket on May 7. Fans were caught off guard by his sudden statement, even though he had already told Michael Clarke that he was excited about the England visit. After a poor batting performance and concerns about his captaincy during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he made the choice.
With Shubman Gill at the helm and Pant as vice-captain, India is currently on tour in England for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. On social media, Rohit Sharma is posting pictures of beautiful locations and ancient structures while on holiday in Italy with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, daughter Samaira, and son Ahaan.
The series has now been postponed, although Rohit was supposed to make his comeback to international cricket in August for India’s ODI trip to Bangladesh. Rohit won’t be able to play again until October unless the BCCI plans another limited-overs series during that time frame.
The second Test match between India and Edgbaston is under underway, and the visitors have established a respectable lead. The captain took the lead with a brilliant hit of 269 runs. Harry Brook and Jamie Smith of England, however, struck hundreds to put the home team back in the game. But Mohammed Siraj changed the tide with a six-wicket haul, knocking England for 407 and giving India a 180-run advantage.
