Gautam Gambhir seen in tense exchange with Oval groundsman
Before India’s fifth Test of the current series against England, head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen arguing with a groundskeeper at The Oval.

It’s unclear what caused Gautam Gambhir to become angry. However, in a video that surfaced online, Gautam Gambhir was heard stating, “You don’t tell us what to do,” and “You’re just a groundsman here.” According to the comments, the Indian coach’s annoyance most likely resulted from conversations about the series’ flat pitches.

Interestingly, there has been a lot of discussion about the Dukes ball’s condition during the series, as it has become soft and out of shape far earlier than usual. The captains of both teams have come up and discussed it in great detail. Discussions about the same have been common among analysts and other former players.

The excessively batting-friendly decks that have been handed out thus far have also come under attack. The four games that have ended have seen a lot of runs scored as bowlers have struggled to function. In certain cases, bowlers have been unable to make a breakthrough for extended periods of time.

The series is currently 2-1 in favour of England over India. India became victorious in the second series match at Edgbaston, winning by 336 runs, after the hosts won the first one at Headingley by five wickets. India put up a strong fight in the second innings, but the ensuing Test ended in a tie at Old Trafford in Manchester, while the third match at Lord’s went in favour of England by a slim margin of 22 runs.
