It was unexpected when Suryakumar Yadav was named T20I captain because Hardik Pandya had been prepared for a long time to assume the role in Rohit Sharma’s absence. But the new team administration has doubts about Hardik’s fitness, which is why they named Suryakumar the new captain.

Gill further disclosed that the players are content that Abhishek Nayar has been named one of the assistant coaches. The former cricket player from India performed admirably for KKR, which aided in his recruitment to the Indian national squad. One of the main advantages, according to Gill, is that Nayar spends a lot of time on the pitch.

Shubman Gill was disappointed when he was left out of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup roster. He is now over it, though, and said that while his play before the competition wasn’t particularly impressive, he still intends to get better at bat and eventually be a star on the T20I squad.
