Gardner back as No. 1 all-rounder in ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings

In the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, Ashleigh Gardner of Australia has reclaimed the top spot for all-rounders and achieved a career-high 10th place among hitters following her game-winning century in Friday’s third ODI against England in Hobart.

With a run-a-ball of 102, Gardner achieved a career-high 469 rating points, regaining the top rank she had previously occupied in October 2023. Last week, she surpassed South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp by reaching her previous best rating point total of 466.

Her highest batting ranking, which she achieved in December 2023, was 14th. Ashleigh Gardner so maintains her impressive run,

Which included finishing second among bowlers last week, putting her in career-best positions on all three ODI rankings.

The most recent weekly update, which took into account performances in the final two ODI matches of the Ashes series, the third match of the ICC Women’s Championship (IWC) series between India and Ireland, and the first of the IWC series between the West Indies and Bangladesh, has increased the batting rankings for a number of players, including captains Smriti Mandhana of India and Hayley Matthews of the West Indies.

Mandhana moved up one spot to second place with her 80-ball 135 and Matthews moved up four spots to a career-high fifth place with her game-winning 104 not out. With 154 runs and a record-breaking opening partnership of 233 runs with Mandhana, Pratika Rawal has moved up 12 spots to 53rd place.

Shemaine Campbelle of the West Indies (up one spot to 52nd), Australia’s Tahlia McGrath (up six places to 23rd), Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhter (up four places to 41st), and India’s Jemimah Rodrigues (up two places to 17th) and Richa Ghosh (up six places to 35th) are among the other hitters who have improved.

Deepti Sharma‘s three for 27 put him up one spot to fourth in the bowling rankings. Australian seamer Kim Garth has risen four spots to sixth rank, while leg-spinner Alana King has reached a career-high seventh place with hauls of four for 25 and five for 46.

Afy Fletcher from the West Indies (up four spots to 28th), Georgina Dempsey from Ireland (up 15 spots to 50th), Lauren Bell from England (up two spots to 15th), and Georgia Wareham from Australia (up two spots to 27th) are all making progress.

With a series victory over Ireland, the Indians advance.

Australian Phoebe Litchfield (up three spots to 24th) and Sophia Dunkley (up six spots to 34th) have risen in the T20I Rankings’ batting rankings, while Annabell Sutherland (up one spot to seventh) and Georgia Wareham (up five spots to 13th) have risen in the bowling rankings.

India finished second with 37 points in the IWC standings after defeating Ireland 3-0. England (32), South Africa (25), and Sri Lanka (22) are the other nations who have guaranteed direct spots to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, while Australia leads the championship with 39 points.

Bangladesh is now at 19 points after losing the first ODI against the West Indies in the final series of this IWC cycle. They have a difficult task ahead of them to win both of their remaining games in order to pass New Zealand (21) and secure the final direct spot at the World Cup, which will be hosted by India.
