In the current ICC ODI rankings, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are placed first and second, respectively. Their contribution to India’s recent series victory over South Africa was significant. To win Player of the Series, Kohli actually scored more over 300 runs in the three ODIs, including a few hundreds.
Additionally, Rohit had two outstanding outings, hitting two fifties in three innings. However, there have been numerous allegations of a breach between the two batting stars and head coach Gautam Gambhir, which became even more apparent when Gambhir failed to thank them for their contributions during the series.
Robin Uthappa, a former Indian batsman, believes that Gambhir should not ignore their contributions.
“What surprised me was that Gautam didn’t give credit to either Rohit or Virat during the press conference after that series,” Uthappa posted on his YouTube account.
“These two guys have showed us their abilities and capacity for excellence by going above and beyond. They dispelled any sceptics about what they truly can and will accomplish for India when they are in the proper form and dispelled all types of doubts. That was odd,” he continued.
