Australia

Australia and India went head-to-head in the much-anticipated World Test Championship final 2023 on June 7 at London’s Oval. Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, won the toss and chose to bowl first on a green track with clouds in the sky. In the fourth over of the day, Mohammed Siraj got the first break for India when he got Usman Khawaja out without a run after ten balls. After he was out, Warner, who had opened for him, took the lead for Australia.

Early on, the southpaw had his eye on the prize. He then opened his arms and began to attack the Indian bowling attack. In the 15th over of the game, he faced Umesh Yadav and hit him for four boundaries. The left-handed batsman made the most of the space available and kept cutting the right-arm seamer for fours on the off side.

After Warner’s blitzkrieg, Yadav’s score after two overs was 2 for 21. But even though the first batter seemed to be in a good groove, Shardul Thakur got rid of him in the 22nd over when he tried to pull a ball down the leg side. Warner was out after hitting eight fours and scoring 43 runs.

Steve Smith and Travis Head keep the ship steady for Australia

After he was out, India had another win when Mohammed Shami got rid of Marnus Labuschagne early in the second session. After 24.1 overs, Australia was down to 76/3. Just when it looked like things were going well for India, Steve Smith and Travis Head made a huge team that took the game away from India.

The two of them pushed Australia’s score over 200 and took the wind out of India’s attack. Head played as freely as he could, and with the help of nine fours, he got to 50 off of just 60 balls. Smith, on the other hand, was second fiddle and changed the strike often.

Smith got to 50 in the third session, and the two of them went on to make 150 runs together without getting out. After 62 overs, Australia had a score of 226/3.
