Rohit Sharma, a seasoned player for the Mumbai Indians (MI), achieved a new milestone by being the fourth player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to attain 100 catches. On April 7, Sunday, during MI’s IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Mumbai’s storied Wankhede Stadium, the 36-year-old accomplished the feat. By taking Jhye Richardson‘s catch off Gerald Coetzee in his 247th match, he reached the milestone.
With an astounding total of 110 catches in 242 matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru batsman Virat Kohli tops the list of IPL catch totals. With 109 catches in 205 games, former Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina—also referred to as Mr. IPL—is in second place. Kieron Pollard, with 103 catches in 189 games, is third.
Jasprit Bumrah finishes the IPL with 150 wickets for MI.
Leading Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah also set a new record by taking 150 wickets in the IPL. He did this for a single IPL club, making history as the first Indian cricket player to do so. The quick bowler, who has been a member of MI since 2013, was born in Ahmedabad and completed the feat in 124 games.

The 30-year-old bowled brilliantly, ending with statistics of 2/22 in four overs at an economy rate of just 5.50 in a high-scoring match between MI and DC at the Wankhede Stadium. To hit the 150-wicket mark, he sent back Abhishek Porel and Prithvi Shaw.
In relation to the game, MI amassed an enormous 234 runs thanks to some outstanding hitting from Rohit Sharma (49), Ishan Kishan (42), Tim David (35*), and Romario Shepherd (39+1). As a result, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi, the team’s captain, immediately struggled in their innings. With an unbeaten 71 off just 25 deliveries, DC’s No. 4 batsman, Tristan Stubbs, demonstrated his mettle, but he was unable to get across the finish line as they were limited to 205.
