Before the summit match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar praised the services of the great Virat Kohli and stated that he and his colleagues will try to win the IPL championship for the former captain of India.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Although no team has ever won the IPL championship, one of them would have broken the curse following the much awaited match.
“I believe he has contributed many years to both the international and RCB sides. Patidar and Shreyas Iyer of PBKS spoke to the media here on Monday before the game, saying, “We will try to do our best in the game.”
Even though RCB has been one of the most dominant teams this season, Patidar was also asked if it is annoying to see the focus on a single player before the final. The Madhya Pradesh batter calmly responded to the challenging query.
“I don’t believe I find it irritating. The fact that we are in the finals is not something we are focussing on on stage. We’ll do our best to play cricket. The stage is not why we are performing here. “I prefer to keep things straightforward,” he continued.
In IPL 2025, RCB made history by winning all seven of their away games. As RCB supporters have gone to every venue to express their affection for the veteran and his teammates, the Kohli factor has been evident.
“Wherever we go, we feel that the crowd is a home ground for us and (given) the way they are showing support and love from the (last many) years,” he stated.
The availability of the highly effective Tim David, who has missed their past two games due to a hamstring injury he suffered while fielding against Sunrisers Hyderabad, may worry RCB.
“I don’t know anything about Tim David as of yet. We shall learn more this evening,” Patidar said, adding that doctors are present.
