Makhaya Ntini

Makhaya Ntini, a legendary bowler from South Africa, has shown his ongoing love for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans. Notably, he spent two seasons as a player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with CSK. In nine IPL games for CSK, the 46-year-old has taken seven wickets overall, including a hat-trick against the two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders.

Experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin approached Ntini after the second Test match between India and South Africa in Cape Town. Notably, during their 2008–09 season together, the duo made a substantial contribution to the five-time winners, CSK. A video of Ashwin asking Makhaya Ntini to give a message to his CSK followers has been making the rounds on social media. Meanwhile, Ntini abruptly started singing a popular Hindi song.

Ashwin asked Makhaya Ntini, “That’s for the CSK fans; you can say hello to them.”

“Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein… Khayal Aane Aane (originally Khayal aata hain)” is the song that the South Africans began to sing. Its lyrics translate to “Sometimes I think about you in my heart.”

In the second Test, India defeated South Africa to tie the series 1-1.

India leveled the series at one and a half after winning the second Test match by seven wickets following their defeat in the opening Test. In reference to the second Test, South Africa chose to bat first after winning the toss. Their move backfired as they were dismissed for just 55 runs, giving Mohammed Siraj the opportunity to record a career-high 6/15.

Indian bowlers excelled, but their batting was equally poor; in the second inning, they were bowled out for 153. For the hosts, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Nandre Burger each got three wickets. South Africa scored 176 runs in the third inning, short of their goal of 79 runs, demonstrating their lack of success at the bat. Aiden Markram played a key role in the Proteas’ well-deserved century. India won the game in one and a half days by successfully chasing down the goal, making it the second-shortest Test cricket match ever.
