Following Bangladesh's terrible performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, BCB is considering altering their coaching staff.

After losing to the Netherlands in the most recent ODI World Cup 2023 match, Bangladesh is in ruins. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has therefore been considering making big changes to its coaching staff in light of the team’s performance at the major tournament. As of late, the BCB has disclosed that both head coach Chandiika Hathurusingha and assistant coach Nick Pothas will escape the wrath of the Bangla Tigers’ cricket regulatory body and will carry on leading the team.

If the sources are accurate, though, the BCB will not offer contract extensions to coaches of spin bowling Rangana Herath and fast bowling Allan Donald. In addition, following the conclusion of the ODI World Cup in India, Shrinivas Chandrasekaran, the analyst for the Bangladeshi team, would also depart the team. Remarkably, Chandrasekaran declined an extension offered to him following the World Cup, claiming personal reasons. The team’s fielding coach, Shane Mc Dermott, is also being investigated since BCB is not happy to give him a contract extension.

Speaking of Bangladesh, who have so far had a miserable ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.

Despite having the potential to perform considerably better, the team has lost five straight games, and the impact it has had can be seen in the fact that captain Shakib Al Hasan was obliged to label it as one of the worst World Cup performances. BCB had parted ways with their former Englishman and coach, Steve Rhodes, in reference to their prior practice of switching coaches.

Nobody who worked with us hurt us, not even the coaches: Taskin Ahmed

The brilliant Bangladeshi pacer Taskin Ahmed said that certain matters are between the coaches and boards and have nothing to do with the players when questioned about the ongoing juggling of the coaching setup and its effect on him and his colleagues ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 match against the Netherlands. Taskin also made sure to mention that every coach Bangladesh has had throughout its history has contributed to the team’s ongoing development. As a result, the pacer thinks that Rhodes and BCB ended their business amicably.

“Everyone has a time limit, but no coach hurt us. It is sometimes extended, sometimes not, and there are instances when the board wants to part ways with the coach and situations where the coach doesn’t want to continue. According to Cricbuzz, Ahmed said, “When they leave, there are a lot of talks about this and that problem. This happens for most of them when they are leaving, but how much of it is true even we don’t know and later we come to know that he is leaving for this or that reason but whoever worked with us has helped us.”
