WATCH: Floodlight fails many times in pink-ball Test, leaves India bowlers upset

During the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide, the settings become darker when all lights are turned off. As they talk about what happened at that time, the commentators engage in a lively discussion.

Some of the more strange things that people saw during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024–25) day-night test at the Adelaide Oval. The Australians have so far controlled the first day of the second Test at Adelaide. The Australian pacers bowled out Team India for a low score of 180.

When Australia came out to bat, they finished the day with a score of 86/1 at stumps, with batsmen Nathan Mcsweeney and Marnus Labuschagne still undefeated at the crease. The hosts are currently 94 runs behind.

Fans and players witnessed some strange incidents during the day/night Test, despite the fact that it was a largely one-sided day with the hosts in control. Notably, the floodlights began to malfunction during the game, going out and then coming back on. Within a few minutes, the same scenario happened again. All of the players became irritated as a result, particularly Indian bowler Harshit Rana.

As the drama played out, the commentators began to amuse themselves by making jokes about how things had turned out. Harsha Bhogle was the first to ask if anyone had fallen asleep. David Warner, a former Australia opener who is now a broadcaster, also weighed in on the situation and remarked that it was likely someone had forgotten to pay the electrical bills.

Warner remarked cheekily, “Someone hasn’t paid their bills here.”

Australia’s victory over India in Adelaide marks the end of Day 1.

For the players and spectators on the pitch, it was not a very pleasant day, even though everyone, including the commentary team, can see the humorous side of these situations. They will be hoping that the lights won’t have an impact on the game the next day.

In the meantime, Australia will try to reduce the deficit and get a sizable advantage over the visitors as the match moves forward in Adelaide, while Team India will try to recover on Day 2 by maybe contributing some early wickets.
