Due to concussion symptoms, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team skipper, Nida Dar, will miss the team’s forthcoming second ODI against New Zealand, which is a setback. The captain needed two days of recovery after taking a hit to the face during the opening game. The 22-year-old speed bowler Fatima Sana, who will make her leadership debut in Christchurch on Friday, will take over as team captain in Dar’s absence.

In the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Sana led Pakistan to the semi-finals, demonstrating her leadership abilities. In the opening One-Day International, Dar was delivering her sixth over when Sophie Devine smacked her hard in the face. Before she was removed off the field, she received immediate medical assistance. Her status for the third game was still unknown.

“Despite the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Nida Dar’s injury, it is an honor to captain the Pakistan women’s team in one-day internationals.” She’s been an inspiration, and I hope she heals quickly. We defeated New Zealand in a historic T20I series, and I have no doubt that the players will be motivated to win the ODI series as well.

We are all prepared to perform well in tomorrow’s match, even if we didn’t have a great performance in the first ODI,” Fatima Sana said.

Pakistan’s injury problems get worse

Pakistan’s injury problems don’t stop there; Shawaal Zulfiqar and Diana Baig are also sidelined. After being hurt during a pre-match practice, Baig had surgery on her index finger, which kept her out of the game for around four weeks. Pakistan’s depth and resiliency were put to the test in the current series as a result of these injuries, which will provide a challenge as they try to rebound and play well in the remaining games against New Zealand.

The following players will be playing in the second ODI for Pakistan: Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Omaima Sohail, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar. The captain of the team is Fatima Sana.
