Faf du Plessis may not have been important to South Africa recently, but he has excelled in franchise leagues all over the world. The current season of the Caribbean Premier League saw the Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) skipper bat in three games, scoring 112 runs at an average of 37.33 and a strike rate of 147.37. He won’t participate any further, though, since he has travel back to South Africa for the scans because his tennis elbow problem has returned.
Faf du Plessis scored a magnificent 57 off 36 while playing in the Kings’ most recent game versus Trinbago Knight Riders despite being in agony. By 54 runs, SLK was able to win the game. The former South African captain admitted after the game that he felt like he was losing power while attempting to hit the big shots, so he opted to timing the ball instead. The 39-year-old’s class is evident in his strike rate of 158.33 despite his discomfort.

Munro is no new to the CPL; he is the international cricketer with the most runs scored in the competition’s history. The southpaw has scored 2178 runs in 73 games, averaging 35.70 runs per game and striking out 129.56 percent of the time.
