Maninder Singh, a former Indian cricket player, believes Varun Chakravarthy will make a significant contribution to the 2025 Asia Cup. Three spinners are part of the 15-man Indian team for the forthcoming Asia Cup. At the continental event, where Suryakumar Yadav will lead the Men in Blue, Chakravarthy will be joined by Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel.
The mystery spinner’s ability to adjust to various match situations was praised by the former left-arm spinner. He did not, however, have faith that Kuldeep Yadav would be included in India’s Asia Cup starting lineup. He also acknowledged that if Kuldeep had been in the starting lineup, India would have easily won the most recent England five-match series.
Additionally, Maninder clarified Varun Chakravarthy exceptional cricketing intelligence.
He’s a material person with a high level of intelligence; there aren’t many of that kind in cricket. In my opinion, he will be the most effective of the three Indian spinners competing in the Asia Cup. He is a very intelligent bowler. He reads batters well and knows how to bowl in a variety of circumstances. According to India Today, Maninder said, “He may appear unintelligent on the surface, but he is a true thinker.”
“If they want to use two spinners at the Asia Cup, I don’t think they’ll use Kuldeep Yadav. Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel, who can bat as well, will be the players. In the same chat, he stated, “India would have won the series 3-1 if they had played Kuldeep in the Test matches in England.”
The 60-year-old came to the conclusion that, especially in the series-opening match in Headingley, the English batters would have been unable to respond to Kuldeep’s variations.
“He wouldn’t have been recognized by the English batters. They wouldn’t have read his leg-spinners or googlies. They chased 371 in the first Test match. He pointed out that England could not have pursued him if he had been playing on the fourth night and fifth day.
Varun Chakravarthy has a strong run of results in the Tamil Nadu Premier League going into the Asia Cup. Dindigul Dragons won the championship thanks in large part to his leadership and ball-playing exploits.
