Ajay Jadeja, a former Indian batsman, claimed that Kuldeep Yadav had to deal with unfairness because he might have scored a six-for if he had bowled four consecutive overs. Suryakumar Yadav gave Kuldeep a rest after his first two overs because he wanted to test all of his bowlers. Jadeja claimed that the left-arm wrist spinner was not even included in the book when questioned if it was an out-of-syllabus query for the UAE batsmen.
In India’s 2025 Asia Cup opening match against the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, September 11, Kuldeep Yadav was named Player of the Match. For the first time since the Champions Trophy final on March 9, he participated in international cricket and returned with incredible results of 4/7 in 2.1 overs.
“He isn’t even mentioned in the book, so forget about the syllabus. It was unfair to him that he took four wickets. In an interview on Sony Sports, Jadeja retorted, “Forget the five matches you didn’t play him (in the Test series against England).” I’m speaking lightly because people might take it seriously. After he had taken two wickets in his first two overs, Shivam Dube was brought in to bowl, and he was taken out, indicating that he was fit (in the team).
“They were trying others. Upon his return, he once more claimed two wickets in two or three deliveries. Jadeja noted that he might have taken six wickets rather than four if he had bowled four overs in a row.
He is now making excellent ball releases: Jadeja
Kuldeep, 30, is now releasing the ball efficiently and quickly, according to Jadeja, who praised him as a unique talent.
“There is no doubt that he is a superb player. The skill of left-arm wrist spin is incredibly unusual, and along with that, the thing he possesses in his hand. The speed wasn’t this high before. He is now making excellent ball releases. Thus, it was only a question of time,” he stated.
Instead of picking Kuldeep off the hand, Jadeja believes the UAE batsmen were attempting to predict the direction of his deliveries.
According to the cricket player-turned-expert, Kuldeep will be crucial to India’s upcoming match against bitter rivals Pakistan.
“These batters had an extremely hard time predicting which way the ball would go. They were speculating about the ball’s trajectory. He has demonstrated his class even when playing against talented players on numerous occasions. His participation in the Pakistan match will be equally significant, and he may be successful there as well, albeit not to the same extent as against the UAE,” Jadeja noted.
