Have experienced defeat by an Indian B squad and enjoy seeing England lose: Tim Paine

Day 1 of the fifth Test between England and India in Dharamshala saw the visitors go from 175/3 to 218 all out, despite England having a strong start with the bat. They were unable to display spirit as Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin used their skills to win a four-fer and a five-for, respectively, in the midst of the game.

Next, former Australia captain Tim Paine took a shot at the Ben Stokes-led side by claiming he was used to losing to “India’s B team” and that he liked to watch England lose.

The fact that Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohli were absent from the Rohit Sharma-led lineup during the five-match series was brought up during the conversation. Additionally, KL Rahul only participated in one test, while Jasprit Bumrah was absent from the fourth test held in Ranchi. In light of this, Paine referred to it as “India’s B team,” but in the end, he praised England for their daring strategy. He said that he enjoys basketball because it’s thrilling and fun.

“I have experienced losing to an Indian B team. We were unfortunate enough to experience it on our own land. Indeed, the English should have benefited with the big stars out for India. I really like how England is approaching the game, and I enjoy seeing them play it. It’s fun to watch them fail. They are thrilling and fascinating; don’t get me wrong. Paine told Around the Wicket, “They have been for Test cricket.”

Indian cricket has enormous depth. Brad Haddin also noted some notable absences from the Indian squad. But he also discussed the depth of Indian cricket, saying that Yashasvi Jaiswal is leading the way in their absence and praising young player Dhruv Jurel for his outstanding performance in the Ranchi Test.

“They are not their best team, but the fact that such well-known players are joining Indian cricket in this new period just goes to show how deep the sport is. Young Jurel was outstanding in the most recent test as well, but Jaiswal is spearheading the effort. India appears to be quite strong, thus claiming Haddin.
