After winning the toss for the second ODI, England Women decided to bowl first, which hurt Sri Lanka Women’s chances.
Seven batters failed to reach double figures in the Sri Lankan innings, and four of them were bowled for ducks, rendering Chamari Athapaththu’s excellent 34-run contribution insufficient.
The English bowlers were particularly effective, with Kate Cross, Lauren Filer, and Sarah Glenn each adding one wicket to their total, while Charlotte Dean and Alice Davidson Richards each claimed two.
