While racing between the wickets in Australia’s Group A match against Pakistan, Alyssa Healy suffered a calf injury. She is rushing to recover in time for the semi-final match against South Africa on October 17 in Dubai after missing the following match against India.

Her participation in the semi-finals is uncertain because she hasn’t been working with the team since her bizarre injury. Tahlia McGrath took the lead and guided the reigning champions to a nine-run victory over India.
Ellyse Perry, one of the Australian team’s most seasoned players, stated that she always cheers for Healy on the pitch, and this was true when McGrath took over. The all-rounder also gave an update on Healy’s injury condition, saying that the medical staff is working hard to get the batsman-wicketkeeper ready for the knockout stages.
We have a wide range of seasoned players and leaders in the group, and I consider myself really fortunate to have been a part of it for a while. Along with many other players, I’ve always been there to provide that support to Midge (Healy) or Tahlia at various stages throughout games. Prior to the semi-final match, Perry told the reporters, “It probably looked a little different with Midge off the field the other night, but in terms of the messaging and how we spoke, it was all the same” (via Fox Sports).
“I don’t think anything has changed in that regard, but the squad and medical staff will give her every chance to play tomorrow night. We’ll simply have to wait till the next day,” she continued.
