Perhaps the most exciting game of the season was the last one between RCB Women and UP Warriorz Women, which also included the first super over in WPL history. Both teams had some excellent performances, and although though Sophie Ecclestone led the team to victory with the bat and the ball, Ellyse Perry, the star of the RCB, had an innings that was not to be overlooked.
The 34-year-old all-rounder hit an undefeated 90 off 56 deliveries, including nine fours and three maximums, making it one of the best innings in the tournament even though it ended in a loss. In WPL history, this was the second-highest individual score for an RCB player. Perry is dominating this round in runs scored and is putting up important performances despite still being recovering from a hip injury. Her comeback with the ball in which she scalped Shweta Sehrawat was also observed by the fans.
Perry also surpassed her former Australian captain Meg Lanning to become the highest-scoring player in WPL history with her innings. In her 21 WPL appearances for Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women, Perry has currently amassed 835 runs. She has a strike rate of 133.17 and an average of 64.23.
Other athletes on the list of top run scorers
In addition to Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning, several notable players have made the list.
The top five is completed by the Mumbai Indians Women and India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the English all-round sensation Nat Sciver-Brunt, and the daring Indian opener Shafali Verma.
