Reports: ECB bans players from participating in Pakistan Super League

There have been rumors that the England & Wales Cricket Board may not allow players to participate in the Pakistan Super League. This is after the governing board gave the connected players full permission to play in the Indian Premier League’s next three seasons, beginning the following year.

The PSL and any other franchise leagues that fall during the domestic summer will not enable English players to compete. A number of players’ earning potential is expected to be reduced by the change in the rules. The board, however, believes that the rule changes will contribute to improving the caliber and accessibility of the domestic competition.

Additionally, players will not be permitted to participate in any competitions that conflict with the Blast and the Hundred, according to the ECB.

The board affirmed that players will not be allowed to play in leagues that are suspected of being corrupt and will not be allowed to “double dip,” which is to transfer to another tournament after losing to another that is happening at the same time. The Telegraph quoted Richard Gould, the chief executive of the ECB, as stating, “We need to protect the integrity of our sport and the strength of our competitions in England and Wales as well.”

clarifies how we issue No Objection Certificates: Goulding

Gould added that this action was being done with the greater interest of England cricket in mind.

This guideline clarifies for professional counties and players how we issue No Objection Certificates. “It will allow us to maintain the integrity of cricket worldwide, make sure we don’t jeopardize our own ECB competitions, and manage the welfare of centrally-contracted England players while also supporting players who wish to take advantage of opportunities to earn and gain experience,” he continued.

The PSL and IPL, which both begin in mid-March, will overlap because the Champions Trophy 2025 is set for February. The 18th season of the prestigious Indian competition, which is scheduled to start on March 14, will feature a number of famous English players.
