"The pitch is conducive to fast bowling" - Ebadot Hossain desires more green pitches after the Mirpur Test.

Bangladesh performed admirably with the bat in the solitary Test against Afghanistan. It was anticipated that the surface at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur would be spinner-friendly. The participants were surprised, however, when they were presented with a green wicket for the game. In Bangladesh’s first innings, the 29-year-old pacer Ebadot Hossain was phenomenal, taking four wickets and allowing 47 runs in 10 overs. Hossain, reflecting on his performance, noted that the undulating wicket aided him. In addition, the fast bowler expressed optimism for future opportunities to bowl on similar pitches.

The wicket demonstrated that the pitch is conducive to fast bowling. As the weather was favourable, there was bounce, and the wicket aided me tremendously. India Today quotes Ebadot Hossain as saying, “There was a bit more bounce today, and yes, the wind assisted me when I bowled from that side.” “When you perform well, you gain the conviction to win matches. As we are performing well, we can hold out hope for green wickets.”

Although we lost wickets, we scored many runs: Ebadot Hossain

After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh scored 382 runs in the first inning, with Najmul Hossain Shanto achieving a magnificent century. In his assessment of the team’s performance thus far, Hossain noted that the home team had lost wickets but made up for it by accumulating a large score.

“We lost wickets but scored a significant number of runs. The weather was somewhat dismal, and we thought at the time that we would rush in and take their wickets. This was the strategy, said Hossain.
