Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur discussed her role as the team's leader in an exclusive interview with Star Sports.

Leading lady Harmanpreet Kaur of India talked about the culture inside the team and her responsibility as a leader in fostering positivity. Kaur continued by saying that the relationships between the players have the potential to impact the team’s success on the pitch, therefore it’s critical to maintain harmony and positivity.

Indian women‘s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur discussed her role as the team’s leader in an exclusive interview with Star Sports.

“I think the team should have a culture where everyone enjoys each other’s company and can open up to each other about their feelings,” she stated. Additionally, the team performs well when the environment is like that. My goal as a leader is for us to all be at ease with one another. You feel obligated to play with players you don’t feel comfortable with when you don’t love it. However, the mood is different if you think you’re going to play with your pals and help the team win.

“Therefore, we aim to create an environment where people are content, encouraging one another, and getting positive outcomes. As a result, I believe that my motivation as a leader is to see to it that everyone gets along well, loves each other’s company, and helps one another through difficult times. Thus, as a leader, such things are crucial to me.

Renuka Singh, an Indian cricket player, discussed her concentration areas, how she approaches bowling, and the people that have influenced her. “I just focus on bowling a good ball,” she remarked. I keep the wicket out of my mind. I simply consider striking the ball in a favourable area, as this results in an automatic wicket. I consider how I can bowl my over, and wickets also come easily when there are lots of dot balls.

Always hitting the ball in a favourable area is my goal. Zaheer Khan has always been an inspiration to me, and I’ve watched him closely. Harpreet is the sole domestic participant. To be honest, I saw her bowling when I first came here. I so reasoned that I wanted to emulate her. She was a skilled inswinger as well. I therefore felt that I had to bowl such excellent balls when I first met her.”

Star cricketer Smriti Mandhana of India discussed how she chooses her shots and calculates her risks when playing. She also mentioned how, when on the pitch, she plays the ball according to its quality and keeps things extremely simple.

Ahead of the Women’s Asia Cup, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana talked about her mentality, how she calculates risks in the game, and other topics. “I just play based on the merits of the ball,” she declared. You can bat first or second at times. Without a doubt, you can take your chances and go for it when you bat second since you have the score in front of you.

I think it’s a little disadvantageous in T20 that you don’t know what you have to get to in the first innings. But I believe that you should play the ball based on its merit rather than overcomplicating things. Just keep things basic; it’s really easy. That’s how I feel.
