During the 2023 World Cup, Virat Kohli will join MS Dhoni, Sunil Gavaskar, and Kapil Dev on the select list.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5 in India, and the Men in Blue’s campaign will get began on October 8 when they play Australia. Virat Kohli will be the sole player representing India at his fourth World Cup, with several other players competing in their third. Along with him, many giants have participated in four ODI World Cups, including MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble, and others.

In contrast, Sachin Tendulkar, a great Indian batsman who competed in six ODI World Cups, is at the top of the list. Along with Pakistan’s Javed Miandad, he holds the record for most national team appearances on cricket’s grandest stage. They are the only legends to have participated in five ODI World Cups; others include Ricky Ponting, Mahela Jayawardene, Jacques Kallis, and many more.

While all was going on, Kohli, then 22 years old, participated in his first-ever ODI World Cup in 2011, striking a brilliant 100 against Bangladesh. The cricketer, who was born in Delhi, also hit an outstanding 59 against the West Indies and an essential 35 (49) against Sri Lanka in the championship game.

The top Indian batsman continued the 2015 edition with an incredible hundred against Pakistan, reaching 107 (126) with the help of eight fours in his innings. He did not, however, surpass the 50-run threshold in the following seven innings of the competition.

India’s second-highest run scorer in the ODI World Cup is Virat Kohli.

As the Indian team’s captain later in the tournament’s 2019 iteration, Kohli amassed 443 runs in nine innings for an average of 55.37 and a strike rate of 94.05, along with five fifty-sixes. The 34-year-old has 1030 runs to his name from 26 innings at an average of 46.81 and a strike rate of 86.70, with two hundreds and six fifties to his name. He is India’s second-highest run scorer in ODI World Cups.

Virat Kohli would be eager to use his incredible batting performance to help his team win the World Cup on home soil after failing to do so in the last two attempts.
