Among the legendary young players on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) roster are players like Nehal Wadhera. With some of his big hits and powerful knocks this season, the gifted left-handed batter has made an impression during the tournament.
With a strike rate of 146.51 in the event, the 24-year-old has amassed 189 runs at an average of 37.80 from his seven innings of action thus far. Despite playing with several legendary players over the past two years, Nehal Wadhera found great meaning in his interaction with Virat Kohli. After discussing his feelings with Virat on his performances, Nehal Wadhera said he was happy that the renowned batter was willing to share his own experience.
“You have seen me for the past two years and this year, Virat Bhai,” I said to him as soon as the game was done. Do you think I’ve changed, and where do you think I can become better? Being a big fan, I would always get to work on everything he told me. “I told him that this was my plan after he said, ‘Nehal, I liked your batting,'” Nehal Wadhera stated, as reported by Hindustan Times.
So I did it. He advised me that attacking the bowlers was a solid approach because it’s often difficult in games with low scores. “I could see composure in your batting and the shots you were hitting, had a lot of thought,” he said after that. Then we said, “Yes, I have done this, I have worked in this manner.” He was pleased to see how prepared I was, and he was delighted to tell me about his experience. I was delighted to hear it from a legend like Virat Kohli, he continued. “I was also equally happy taking all his experience and all the compliments he gave.”
didn’t discuss the preparation in depth with him: Nehal Wadhera
In order to communicate with Virat, Nehal also disclosed in the interview that he spoke with Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, two of his senior players on the Mumbai Indians squad. Additionally, he talked about how surprised he was when Virat recalled his name from their initial meeting two years prior.
“If you’re talking about Virat, I didn’t discuss the preparation in great detail with him. I did, however, let him know that I had. Have you noticed any changes in me over the past two years and this year? “Yes, I can see a lot of composure in your batting,” he said. And I really enjoy it when he tells me things like that. I was surprised that our game hadn’t begun. Nehal Wadhera stated that Virat was standing there conversing with Shreyas Iyer.
“He gave me his own phone number. “Ki haal chaal, Nehal?” he questioned me. The fact that he even remembered my name surprised me. because I didn’t think he would recall my name. I believe I was thrilled after that. I believe that made it possible for me to approach him and ask him questions. I used to say to a player last year—either Tilak or Surya Bhai—that I would want to speak with Virat Bhai once. That, I believe, was the real icebreaker that revealed to me that, indeed, Virat is familiar with my name. And I could approach him and talk to him,” the PBKS batter said in closing.
