North Zone will be led by Indian red-ball captain Shubman Gill in the Duleep Trophy in 2025. Gill’s deputy-in-charge will be Ankit Kumar, the top-order batsman for Haryana. Gill has finished an impressive first Test series as India’s captain, both on the pitch and at bat.
Given that Gill has an upcoming foreign obligation, Shubham Rohilla has been selected to take Gill’s place. Arshdeep Singh will be replaced by Gurnoor Brar, and Harshit Rana will be replaced by Anuj Thakral under the same circumstances as previously stated. The Asia Cup, which will take place from September 9 to September 28 and coincide with the Duleep Trophy dates, made the arrangement necessary.
Another seamer included in the North Zone squad was Anshul Kamboj, who just made his debut for his country in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The lineup also includes left-arm spin bowling all-rounders Nishant Sindhu and Mayank Dagar.
Ayush Badoni, 25, and Yash Dhull, 22, are the other Delhi players in the team besides Harshit. The Delhi Premier League’s 2025 season is where the triumvirate is now playing.
Five players, including seamer Auqib Nabi and opener Shubham Khajuria, have been called up from Jammu & Kashmir. In the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy, Auqib took 44 wickets in eight games at an incredible average of 13.93, making him the second-highest wicket-taker.
At the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, North Zone will play East Zone in the first match of the domestic season starting on August 28.
