Prominent Indian cricket players Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini, and Rishabh Pant are all expected to play in the Delhi Premier League’s inaugural season. According to Rohan Jaitley, president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and league, the competition is anticipated to start in late August 2024.
Men’s and women’s matches will be played throughout the event, and all matches will take place at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Six men’s teams were sold at the franchise auction on July 28th for a total of INR 49.65 crore.
Speaking on the same subject, Rohan Jaitley took the stage and disclosed that the tournament will include Pant, Saini, and Rana in addition to other Indian players. Additionally, he disclosed that although Pant had pledged to play, a lot would rely on his availability for the national squad.
The first-ever DPL season will include appearances from Indian players like as Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, and Harshit Rana.
After our conversation, Rishabh Pant pledged to play for me in the league; however, this is contingent upon his availability and his national team obligations. But he will be playing for the time being. According to The Times of India, Jaitley stated at the trophy inauguration ceremony, “Navdeep and Harshit will also feature in the league.”

It is noteworthy that 270 players from all around Delhi, including national, U-23, and U-19 teams, were draughted for the inaugural event. Virender Sehwag, the league’s brand ambassador and a former cricket player for India, stepped up to voice his enthusiasm for the league. Notably, the son of the former cricket player from India has also been chosen to participate in the state-born league.

“Players who put in a lot of effort in the net but were unable to secure a spot in a major event will undoubtedly find the league to be an incredible opportunity. We didn’t have the chance to play in many leagues while I was a player in my younger years. Yes, it’s a fantastic chance, and I’m happy that my son will have those now that he’s playing,” Sehwag remarked.
