IPL championship is just one step away for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has endorsed the team to win the IPL 2025 championship game at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Shivakumar noted that the Bengaluru-based team has stoked enthusiasm throughout the state following their arrival in the tournament’s lucrative finals. After nine arduous years filled with heartbreaks and close games, RCB is making a comeback to the IPL final. He acknowledged that the government and supporters fully support the team as they pursue their first championship.
“I’m content. In Ahmedabad, the Bengaluru boys, RCB, will prevail. They have reached the finals after a very long period,” India Today cited Shivakumar as saying.
The seasoned politician added that a sizable contingent of fans will be present at the enormous Motera site to cheer on the players under Rajat Patidar in the hopes of seeing the team, which has come close three times but has never won, accomplish a historic triumph.
Both the Karnataka government and the state’s citizens are anticipating their triumph. Many Karnataka residents would travel to Ahmedabad to watch the game. “Let’s hope and pray that they prevail and return,” he continued.
After defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) handily in Qualifier 1, Patidar & Co. guaranteed their place in the IPL 2025 final. The opposition was completely destroyed by Patidar’s bowlers, who dismissed them for 101 runs. Phil Salt led the charge in the chase, helping the team cross the finish line and win the game with 60 balls remaining.
But in the Qualifier 2 matchup with the five-time champion Mumbai Indians, PBKS also recovered stronger. PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer remained composed and chased down the target, scoring an undefeated 87 runs, despite MI posting a commanding total of 203 in the first innings.
After 18 years of playing in the lucrative league, a new team will be crowned for the first time in the IPL 2025, and RCB and PBKS are now aiming for the final victory.
