Dinesh Karthik, the batting coach and mentor for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, recently revealed why he believed that Rajat Patidar, the captain, was the “biggest eye-opener” for the former. On Tuesday, June 3, Patidar & Co. will play Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League final of 2025.
Even after being named the team’s captain, Patidar maintained his dignity and humility, which the former RCB player praised.
Dinesh Karthik was incredibly impressed by Patidar’s unwavering attitude.
“Rajat Patidar has opened my eyes more than anything else in my life. Because people often alter when they suddenly receive a small amount of praise or authority. It’s typical. Their pattern of behaviour, their manner of interaction. Something will show up somewhere. However, what a man Rajat Patidar is. On the second episode of RCB’s Journey to the Finale, Karthik revealed, “For someone who is an RCB captain and makes the decisions today, he has been exactly the same as he was before becoming the captain.”
Mo Bobat, the team’s director of cricket, appeared to be pleased with Patidar’s ability to work well with his teammates and make the most of the tools at his disposal.
One of Rajat’s most remarkable traits, in my opinion, is his extreme composure, which comes naturally to anybody who knows him. And it’s been encouraging to watch him make use of those around him, whether it’s Josh Hazlewood, Virat Kohli, Krunal Pandya, or Jitesh Sharma, who serves as vice captain,” Bobat continued.
Observing them gel has been fantastic: Bobat
Bobat commented on the precise moment the team began to believe in themselves and expressed happiness that their right all-around effort led them to the tournament’s final match.
“We started off struggling a little bit at home, but after we figured out how to win there, the boys gained a lot of confidence, and we started to get on a bit of a roll. We truly wanted to emphasis on the fact that so many individuals were contributing with bat and ball, and the fact that so many people have earned match awards is a good indication of that. Off the pitch, we’ve had a fairly close-knit group overall. “Watching them gel has been fantastic,” he said.
In Qualifier 1, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by a resounding eight wickets, securing a spot in the final. They will play them again, this time in Ahmedabad for the title match. RCB will be eager to end their trophy drought, just like their rivals.
