Dinesh Karthik, a former Indian cricket player, talked about the different qualities that make Rishabh Pant one of his favourite players to watch in the red-ball match. Pant’s ability to charge against bowlers with relative ease was praised by Karthik.
Notably, during the first innings of India’s series opener against England, Pant was one of three centurions. He scored 134 runs off of 251 deliveries in the end. Twelve fours and six sixes were part of his outstanding effort.
“Rishabh Pant’s contributions to the game make me like watching him bat. That’s Test cricket at the box office. He might give you anything just by walking in. Totally erratic, thrilling shots. Furthermore, I have no idea what to anticipate on any given day when I watch him. He isn’t afraid to take on and play daring shots. When he plays Test cricket, he is one of my favourite players to watch. Because, depending on what he thinks is appropriate for the moment, he may face any bowler on any given day. Speaking to the BCCI, Karthik said, “That’s so natural and instinctive.”
It’s happy to have him return: Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik also shared how happy he was to see Pant playing Test cricket again. Pant’s contribution to the 209-run partnership with Shubman Gill was also commended by him.
“Seeing him return makes me happy. I’m quite pleased for him. Because you can see where he was following that accident, and then he came to win the first Test in a series with a score of 100. This is unique, even though I am aware that he has one versus Bangladesh. The first test of a series, you know. As the team’s vice captain, he bats alongside his captain, with whom he has a close relationship. “It’s fantastic to be a part of that partnership,” Dinesh Karthik continued.
Pant became the wicketkeeper with the most hundreds for India with his seventh Test century, surpassing MS Dhoni’s six-hundred-run record.
