A moment that he shared with England batsman Joe Root during the five-match Test series against England earlier this year was recently recalled by India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel. It is noteworthy that Jurel debuted in the same series and even showed promise in his first outing.
However, he was put in a risky situation during his subsequent Test in Ranchi, which is when the incident in issue occurred. India was batting with a total of 161 runs after losing five wickets, while England had scored 353 runs in the game’s opening innings.
By the end of the day, Dhruv Jurel had scored thirty* runs, and India was batting on a 219/7 score.
Despite both players played together in the IPL, Jurel disclosed that he had trouble sleeping the same night and that Joe Root had been taunting him on a regular basis.
It was a night I could not sleep. On thirty, I was not out. A few overs remained, so I was planning for the following day, debating whether to attempt for the half-century with the old ball or against the new ball. However, before they took the new ball and Anderson came back, I was able to get about 36, Jurel said to Jatin Sapru on his YouTube channel.
Joe Root was already acting aggressively and sledging people all the time. Half of those words were incomprehensible to me because of the British accent. Joe Root and Bairstow also joined. ‘Why are you sledging me?’ I asked Root, who I used to play with in the IPL, horrified and surprised. In response, he said, “We are all now playing for our country.”

It should be noted that Dhruv Jurel had a huge impact on the game, scoring 90 runs off of 149 deliveries to push India’s tally above 300 runs. He was also named player of the match after contributing 39* runs in the second innings to lead India to a five-wicket victory.
