Deepak Chahar departs the dugout amusingly during MS Dhoni's shadow practice against RCB in IPL 2023.

During the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar was embroiled in a hilarious incident involving Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain MS Dhoni. On Monday, April 17, 2019 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, CSK recorded their third victory of the IPL 2023 season against their formidable rivals, RCB.

Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube delivered crucial scores during the first innings of the visiting team’s innings, which resulted in a spectacular performance. Conway scored 83 runs off 45 deliveries, while Rahane and Dube contributed 37 and 52 runs, respectively, to steer the team to a mammoth 226-run total.

Nonetheless, during the first inning, Deepak Chahar, who has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury, was involved in an amusing incident. During the high-octane match, the pacer was astonished when captain MS Dhoni began shadow-batting from the dugout.

Deepak Chahar appears visibly perplexed in the footage after Dhoni begins shadow batting in front of him in the dugout.

As soon as the captain brought his bat near to Deepak Chahar face, Deepak Chahar jumped from his seat to avoid being struck.

CSK is experiencing myriad injury concerns.

Notably, Deepak Chahar had to exit the field after the first over of Match 12 of the current season against Mumbai Indians due to a hamstring injury. The injury occurred on the fifth ball of his first over, and CSK physiotherapists assisted him off the field.

Both all-rounder Kyle Jamieson and pacer Mukesh Choudhary have been ruled out for the remainder of the season for the yellow squad. Chahar, Sisanda Magala, Simarjeet Singh, and Ben Stokes have also sustained injuries, and some of them will miss the remainder of the season. As CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan affirmed during an interview with Cricbuzz, Stokes is expected to return for the upcoming matches.

“Ben Stokes is doing well, is recuperating quickly, and should be ready to play on April 30. He could even be available for the April 27 match, according to Kasi Viswanathan of Cricbuzz.
