In his second season as an ODI player, Quinton de Kock has already enjoyed himself a little. He made himself available for South Africa earlier this year after initially retiring following the World Cup in 2023. He had a successful run in Pakistan, hitting 239 runs at an average of 119.5 in three games.
“I think he’s big, he’s massive,” stated Ashwell Prince, the batting coach for South Africa.
“I believe de Kock experience and the qualities we seen in Pakistan would likely have a similar impact on our team as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did on the Indian squad.
“His presence undoubtedly improved the locker room, and the club now includes a number of young players and left-handers. Being able to bat with him in the middle and just hanging around with him and having a few discussions with him, in my opinion, is really beneficial to their development. He therefore has a significant impact on us.
After the all-rounder was instrumental in their 2-0 victory over India in the Test series, South Africa is also eager to see what heights Marco Jansen may achieve. Key components of Jansen’s contributions in Guwahati were broken down by Prince: 6 for 48 with the ball and 93 off 91 with the bat.
“I believe that Marco needs to be clear about his batting technique. In general, you don’t have many partners while you’re hitting at No. 8 or No. 9. Therefore, he needs to score quickly after entering because he only has one or two partners left. As a result, we talked about playing an assertive role.
and then to use the ball in the manner that he did after that. We discuss evaluating the conditions once more. We don’t expect the pitches to bounce as much as that one did when we visit India. Thus, we evaluate this exchange of information between our bowlers and batters. Additionally, our batter commented on how steep the bounce is. Perhaps we should consider using the bounce more than we had planned. Additionally, the bounce was challenging to manage because it was rather steep. As a result, we argue that the most crucial thing is to adjust to what is in front of us.
