David Willey, a former England cricket player, has called for England to deploy “Bazball” in a more balanced manner. England has lost both Test matches in the current five-match series against Australia by a combined total of eight wickets.
David Willey suggested that the Three Lions have a more balanced approach for the rest of the series rather than going overboard, even if he had no issues with the philosophy.
“I believe that the media has used the term ‘Bazball’ more than the players themselves. They’re attempting to influence the game, but I worry that they might go too far in doing so and fail to accept responsibility when the game dictates otherwise.
Stokes has emphasised that in his discussion of it.
According to India Today, David Willey said, “I’m sure they’ll be working to improve that and make it right for the rest of the series.”
The former left-arm seamer said that if England hadn’t lost so many wickets in a row in the first two games, things would have turned out quite differently. He said that in these kinds of circumstances, they ought to strive to absorb pressure more.
“If you go back to Perth, they had a good opportunity of winning that Test match if they had batted better in the third innings, and now everyone would be sitting there having different conversations. The same thing happened in the second Test; England made mistakes at crucial points that ultimately cost them. Instead of playing the wide brand of cricket they desire, he said, “I think they’ll be really trying to identify those moments and know when to potentially absorb a little pressure and just dig in a little bit.”
In the third Test, which is set to begin in Adelaide on December 17, England, whose batting has stuttered during pivotal periods in Perth and Brisbane, will be eager to address the problem. In the upcoming competitions, they will try to better balance being aggressive with responding appropriately.
