David warner fourth Ashes Test, which begins on July 19 at Old Trafford in Manchester, David Warner enjoys the support of former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh. The Pat Cummins-led team will look to win the fourth Test in order to keep the illustrious urn after taking a 2-1 series lead.
The seasoned opener has accrued enough runs, in Waugh’s opinion, to maintain his place in the starting XI for the upcoming Test. The 58-year-old noted the southpaw’s significant performance against India in the World Test Championship (WTC) final at The Oval and his ability to strike a half-century in the second Ashes Test under difficult conditions.The third Test at Leeds included only five runs from Warner, who was removed by Stuart Broad in both innings.
This raises questions about David Warner’s position.
“It’s too late to adjust the batting order at this point. On this tour, he hasn’t exactly had a lot go his way. In challenging circumstances, he performed admirably at Lord’s and against India in the World Championship Test. It will just be too much of a change in the batting order if they leave him out now, in my opinion, Waugh remarked on Fox Cricket.

Mitchell Marsh, an all-rounder, played in his first Test in nearly four years after taking Cameron Green’s place in the playing XI due to injury for the Headingley Test. He scored a century for the visitors and contributed with a few wickets as well. In his opinion, Green won’t be ready for the upcoming Test against England, according to Waugh, who advised Australia to stick with Marsh instead.

There was no question in my mind that he would return and play a fantastic game, which he did. I’m ecstatic for him. Our relationship is fantastic.
