Due to a recent Grade Two right hamstring strain, middle-order batsman Tim David will miss the rest of the current Big Bash League.
Nathan Lyon will miss the rest of the domestic season, according to Cricket Australia. On Day 5 of the ongoing Ashes’ third Test, Lyon sustained a serious injury to his right hamstring while fielding. On December 23, he had a successful surgical procedure. However, given the severity of the injury, Lyon is expected to miss the season. Based on his success during his rehabilitation program, his return to action will be evaluated.
Australian Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins, who missed the first two matches and was just ruled out of the finished fourth and impending fifth Test of the Ashes, will be taking a planned break to manage his workload.
