Following her recovery from a stress fracture to her foot, Darcie Brown has rejoined the team.

Together with Tayla Vlaeminck, she will create an interesting duo that will add more pace to Australia’s bowling repertoire. The gifted Phoebe Litchfield is getting ready to participate in her debut T20 World Cup.

With the announcement of a formidable 15-member squad for the forthcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which kicks off on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates, Alyssa Healy is poised to take the Australian captaincy on the international scene for the first time.

With six championships to their name, Australia is the most successful side in the league. Additionally, they have won the competition in the last three years, in 2018 and 2020 and 2023. They have a roster that is so strong and deep that they very well could go on to defend their title.

In the meantime, ailments that prevented Sophie Molineux (rib) and Grace Harris (calf) from competing in the just finished Hundred in England have healed.

“We’ve had our whole contract list available for selection ahead of a World Cup for the first time in a long time, and it’s produced a really stable and balanced squad,” national selector Shawn Flegler was cited by as saying.

For Australia during the past ten years, Jess Jonassen has been a vital performer. But earlier this year, she was left off the squad for the Bangladesh tour. Although Flegler stated that the spin-bowling all-rounder’s performances will be watched throughout the season, which includes an Ashes series, she was unable to join the squad. so that later in the year she might return to the national team.

“Jess Jonassen is again unlucky to miss out, but we’ve been impressed with the way she’s bounced back, and we’ll continue to monitor her form ahead of the home summer,” added Flegler.
