Next season, Surrey will compete in the new Women’s Tier 1 county league, where Danni Wyatt-Hodge, the top-order batter for the England Women’s team, will play. She participated in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and Rachel Heyhoe-Flint Trophy with the Southern Vipers the previous season, and she also represented the Southern Brave Women in the Hundred Women’s Competition.
She is moving from Southampton to Surrey, where she will be joining English colleagues Alice Capsey and Sophia Dunkley at The Oval. In the meantime, the 33-year-old is already playing in the Women’s Big Bash League with the Hobart Hurricanes Women.
Wyatt-Hodge made it apparent why she joined the South East Stars and conveyed her excitement about joining Surrey.

I’m excited to delight the Surrey fans at the Kia Oval, where I love to play. “I joined the South East Stars because of their positive approach to cricket, and I’m excited to get started,” Wyatt-Hodge said, as quoted.
It was obvious that she would fit right in with our new team: Calvert.
Emma Calvert, the Director of Women’s Cricket at Surrey, was full of praise for Wyatt-Hodge and confirmed that she was the player the team was searching for.
Given that Danni Wyatt-Hodge has committed to Surrey for the 2025 campaign, we are overjoyed. Because of her impressive career, we think Danni will be a valuable addition to the club both on and off the field. It was evident from our conversation that Danni would make a fantastic addition to our new team. According to Calvert, “I am eager to see what she accomplishes while wearing the Three Feathers, and the way she plays cricket is exactly how we want to conduct our business.”

Wyatt-Hodge, who moved from UP Warriorz, is scheduled to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in the next Women’s Premier League.
