Violence erupts at the CWC 2023 match between India and Afghanistan at Arun Jaitely Stadium.

India defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets on Wednesday, October 11, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, carrying on their winning streak in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, shone with the bat as he led his team to a record-breaking 273 run total in just 35 overs.

In addition to the thrilling cricket action on the field, several spectators were also seen fighting. A viral video shows several Indian supporters punching one other after an incident in the Arun Jaitely Stadium.

Resuming the game, Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, chose to bat first after winning the toss. His openers, though, were unable to support his choice as they were left floundering at 63/3 after 13.1 overs. With his team in difficulties, captain Shahidi (80 off 88) and Azmatullah Omarzai (62 off 69) formed a massive 121-run partnership off 127 balls for the fourth wicket.

Afghanistan was able to reach their total of 272/8 in the stipulated 50 overs because to their strong partnership and some help from the lower order. With the ball, India was led by Jasprit Bumrah, who finished with 4/49 in ten overs, and Hardik Pandya, who finished with 2/43 in seven overs.

With his blazing hundred in the second innings, Rohit Sharma broke all previous records.

India’s reply got off to a great start thanks to openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who combined for a huge partnership of 156 runs off just 112 balls. With 16 fours and five sixes in his stunning 131 off 84 balls, Rohit went on to break all previous records. On the other hand, Kishan too played a fantastic innings, scoring 47 off 47 while blasting five fours and two sixes.

Virat Kohli kept up his incredible play, striking an undefeated 55* from 56 balls while slamming six fours. India won the match by eight wickets after chasing down the goal of 273 in just 35 overs thanks to their outstanding effort. With just cause, Rohit was named Player of the Match for his magnificent effort.
