There are enough commentators to back you when things go wrong, and some will make headlines. Cummins said they don't focus on it.

'Got that 100% wrong'- Pat Cummins calls out commentators for misrepresenting Josh Hazlewood's words

The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has presented Australia with a formidable challenge after they were thrashed by India by 295 runs. Josh Hazlewood‘s comments following Day 3’s conclusion, meanwhile, have been another problem for the hosts in Adelaide. Australia lost three wickets by stumps on the third day, surrendering a significant lead the day before due to a poor batting performance. The seamer then had said that the batters should bear the blame for the lacklustre performance.

Nonetheless, his comments were misconstrued, and there was a lot of conjecture about a rift inside the Australian team. In his debunking of the allegations, skipper Pat Cummins revealed that some pundits had attempted to make a big issue out of Hazlewood’s remarks, whether on purpose or accidentally.

“The group is fantastic. That was completely incorrectly stated by some commenters. Like usual, we’ve prepared and are considerate to one another. The squad is feeling fantastic. It’s not a big deal to us. There will be plenty of commentators who will cheer you on when things don’t go your way, but some will also undoubtedly make headlines. It’s something we try not to notice too much. “We just go about our things,” The Sydney Morning Herald cited Cummins as saying.

He is very sure of the Gabba: A Pat Cummins

Cummins went on to discuss Hazlewood’s condition for the upcoming third Test. As a result of a side strain, he informed everyone that Hazlewood would be ready to go for the third test.

“He has a lot of confidence in the Gabba. Yesterday, Wednesday, he just played for about three quarters [pace], but he had a good bowl. It was a great success. In retrospect, it’s most likely the correct decision. I believe we just continued bowling [him] in past years. This year, it appears a little different,” he continued, “but it’s likely made that one-week injury last three, four, or five weeks.

The standout bowler for Australia in the opening Test match was Hazlewood. His replacement for the day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval will be Scott Boland.
