At CSK, there is no distinction between seniors and juniors; U19-year-olds receive the same regard and treatment as seniors. Ravindra Jadeja

Over the years, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been one of the most valuable assets for Chennai Super Kings. Since joining the team in 2012, Ravindra Jadeja has been instrumental in the Chennai Super Kings’ multiple championships. On Star Sports’ ‘Stars on Star,’ the vice-captain of the Chennai Super Kings discussed how his time in the IPL has evolved over the years, from the thrill of playing in the inaugural tournament in 2008 to the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) emotional revival in 2018.

Ravindra Jadeja also discussed the supportive environment in the CSK dugout, where players are treated equally regardless of seniority or form, as well as the franchise’s efforts to create a deeper connection with their supporters, such as arranging for fans to stay in Pune during the 2018 tournament.

Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder from India, described the atmosphere in the CSK dugout as follows: “The CSK management and owners never placed any pressure on the players. Even after eleven years with CSK, they maintain the same attitude and strategy. Even if your performance is subpar, they will never make you feel bad. There is no distinction between seniors and juniors. Even U19-aged athletes will receive the same regard and treatment as senior players. No burden at all. No favoritism among athletes, whether or not they are playing.”

Ravindra Jadeja elaborated on how the CSK franchise has been instrumental in fostering a deeper connection with the fans, particularly when they were forced to play their home games in Pune during the 2018 edition of the tournament, saying, “In Pune, CSK Franchise made complete arrangements for 2,000 to 3,000 fans to stay in Pune and watch all seven matches scheduled to be played in Pune. The CSK franchise was responsible for their lodging and dining arrangements. In addition, they received CSK jerseys.”

Ravindra Jadeja continued, “This time at the home ground there will be a lot of excitement because sometimes when we practice it feels like we’re here to play a game because 20,000 to 30,000 supporters come to watch us practice. Complete the filling of one stand and applaud for us while we practice. We haven’t played at our home ground in a few years, and Mahi Bhai is returning this year, so it will be a special occasion for supporters to see him in Chennai.”
