Alastair Cook, the great batter and former captain of England, was among the past cricket players who expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s performance.
Some elite international teams have put on some startling displays in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, a massive ICC cricket tournament. The Jos Buttler-led England team, which placed last in their group and lost all of their games, is among the teams that have done utterly poorly in the competition. The only team in the competition to finish with 0 points is the England squad.
Numerous analysts and former England cricket players have voiced their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance and offered harsh criticism. He also mentioned how he trained as a player and was irritated by the team’s carefree style under Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes.
Andy Flower was always training and getting better,” Alastair Cook continued.
“I struck a lot of balls and prepared thoroughly before it. The setup is much more laid back now that Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum are there. On the “Load of BS on Sport” podcast, the former 2013 Champions Trophy finalist stated, “I don’t know how much I would have enjoyed that relaxedness.”
You don’t want to waste that rhythm, so I guess I liked hitting a lot of balls with Goochy (Graeme Gooch). If you’re in form, hit even more balls.
Buttler left following a poor Champions Trophy performance.
Regarding the England squad, top batsman and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler resigned as captain for both Twenty20 Internationals and One Day Internationals (ODIs). Many supporters are now interested in finding out who will be guiding the team in these two formats in the future. Perhaps one of the worst periods in England cricket history, this is something that neither supporters nor former players want to recall.
