Cricket Australia chose Todd Greenberg as its CEO

As the general manager of Stadium Australia, the CEO of the National Rugby League and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, and most recently, the CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, Greenberg will bring a plethora of expertise to the role.

Prior to the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 Pink Ball Test between Australia and India, CA Chair Mike Baird and recently hired CEO Todd Greenberg will also be accessible to the media on Thursday, 5 December at the Adelaide Oval.

Having played First Grade for Randwick in NSW Premier Cricket and served as Cricket NSW’s Events & Promotions Manager, Greenberg has a wealth of cricketing experience. He also has a master’s degree from the University of Technology, Sydney, and degrees in sports science from the University of New South Wales.

Greenberg will replace Nick Hockley, the company’s current CEO, who declared in August that he will step down at the end of the domestic summer in March.

The appointment comes after a lengthy interview and recruitment process that involved both Australian and foreign applicants.

“I’m thrilled that Todd Greenberg will be joining Cricket Australia as Chief Executive Officer,” stated CA Chair Mike Baird. Todd’s tenure as the CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, his stint as the head of the National Rugby League, and his background in club and stadium administration will provide a wealth of expertise to the post.

He is also known for fostering innovation and commercial expansion, as evidenced by his introduction of the NRLW and the State of Origin to Melbourne. “The recruitment panel and CA Board were greatly impressed by Todd’s enthusiasm for cricket and his vision to build on the achievements of the past few years and continue the game’s growth,” he added, adding that we are entering a time of great potential.

After the season, Baird said, “I would like to thank Nick Hockley, who will leave the game in a great position with important foundations including our broadcast rights deal, MOU, and seven-year content strategy in place.”

“Cricket is in a very exciting time right now. The game’s explosive global growth is creating amazing opportunities, but it’s also posing some challenges to make sure Australian cricket maintains its place at the top of the game.”
