The Babar Azam-led team lost their next four games straight, though, which put them in danger of dropping out of the standings. After they ultimately placed fifth, Babar Azam deputy Shadab Khan took ownership of their subpar performance in the competition and emphasized their inability to adjust to modern cricket.
Since neither of them could make an impression, the bowling department was unable to reach its full potential. After his repeated failures in the ODI World Cup, Shadab Khan himself was once shown the door. Regarding his individual performance, the all-rounder said he let the team and himself down throughout the competition, and he hopes Pakistan will perform better in the future.
