Haryana's government congratulation Yuzvendra Chahal on winning the T20 World Cup in 2024

India won the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29, ending their 11-year wait for an ICC championship.

Except for Kuldeep Yadav’s substitution of Mohammed Siraj during the Super 8 phases of the competition, the whole Indian squad stayed the same for the majority of the competition. While Yuzvendra Chahal was unable to secure a position in the playing XI, Kuldeep was able to dominate the spin department with the help of Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja.

Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal were two other players who did not appear in a single match during the event. However, since the spinner was observed escorting athletes off the pitch, an athlete’s value extends beyond the 22-yard pitch. In a lavish event, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini congratulated him on being a deserving member of a winning team.

“Meeted Yuzvendra Chahal, the son of Haryana’s soil, while playing for the Indian cricket team that won the T-20 World Cup. Countless young people around the nation, especially in Haryana, have been motivated to play cricket and seek careers in sports by Yuzvendra Chahal. Best wishes and congratulations to him and the entire Indian team on this fantastic win, Saini stated in his Instagram post of congratulations.

Indian team lit up the victory parade in Mumbai

On July 4, the India team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Delhi residence following their World Cup victory. They travelled to Mumbai that day, participated in the victory procession, and then thanked the supporters at Wankhede Stadium. Notably, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma declared their retirement from Twenty20 Internationals, meaning they won’t be representing India in the game’s shortest format while wearing the blue shirt.
