With Chloe Tryon back on the team, South Africa Women will be rejuvenated as they prepare to play three Twenty20 Internationals at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium during the final phase of their India tour.
With her last outing coming in the second Twenty20 International of the three-match series against Sri Lanka Women, it has been officially verified that she has recovered from a back injury that had kept her out of action since April of this year.
Dillon du Preez, the South Africa Women’s interim head coach, expressed excitement about Tryon’s comeback to competitive cricket and noted the valuable expertise she would provide. Additionally, he underlined that they will be able to evaluate one or two proxies during the next three Twenty20 Internationals against India before going back to South Africa to start final preparations for the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year.
“We are excited to have Tryon back on the pitch because she brings a wealth of experience to the club. Our previous three Twenty20 Internationals are versus India. According to ESPNcricinfo, du Preez said, “This will give us some time to look at one or two options before we go home and start our final preparation for the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.”

Tryon is particularly experienced, having played in 96 Twenty20 Internationals, scoring 1112 runs and claiming 34 wickets in 77 and 63 innings, respectively.
The South African women’s convenor of selectors, Clinton du Preez, stressed that strengthening the players’ strong points and fostering team togetherness and synergy was the main goal in choosing the side for the next Twenty20 Internationals. He emphasised that their main objective is to give people a place to demonstrate their abilities and obtain significant experience, so they are well-prepared for any obstacles that may arise in the future. du Preez also said that Tryon’s return gave the team a big boost, and he expressed confidence in their ability to perform well in the next games and uphold the high standards that Proteas Women cricket is known for.
“We can improve team dynamics and sharpen our strategies with this method, which is important as we get ready for the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. Our objective is to give our players a stage on which they can demonstrate their abilities and obtain important experience, so that we are ready for whatever difficulties lie ahead. “We are confident that this squad will perform with the determination and excellence that defines Proteas Women cricket, and Chloé Tryon’s return is a significant addition,” Clinton said.
