In the current Test series, Bangladesh was heavily defeated by team India. On September 19, both teams faced off in the opening Test of the series at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. India batted first in the match and amassed 376 runs in the opening half. After that, the team restricted Bangladesh to 149 runs in total.
In addition, India scored 287 runs in the second innings, setting a target of 515 runs for Bangladesh. However, the visitors were bowled out for 234 runs, and India won the match by 280 runs.
Head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe of Bangladesh was clearly upset with the team’s performance against India, especially considering that the visitors had just defeated Pakistan in their own home going into the series.
