We'll use every resource if we go there. After weather prevents England from having a chance to regain the Ashes, Joe Root speaks up

The likelihood of England winning the Manchester Test can be ruined by rain, just like it did on Day 4. They were the favorites to win the current fourth Ashes Test of the series since they were excellent with both the bat and the bowl, but rain has turned out to be their worst nightmare. England captain Ben Stokes was certain that his team would win the next three games and finally take home the urn after eight long years after losing the first two games of the series. Australia will win the series, though, if the current Test is ruined by the weather.

Notably, Day 5 began with umpires assessing the state of the field, at which point it began to rain once more. Things don’t appear to be going well for the home team because the inspection was delayed. Earlier in the day, when questioned about his sentiments heading into the game, former England captain Joe Root responded that the team was fired up to give it their all while also hoping to earn enough game time to win.

We’re hoping that it will skirt around us and allow us to play some cricket. Rain was a possibility later in the game, so what we needed to accomplish sort of mapped itself out for us.

Joe Root said, “I think we did a pretty good job of carrying that out and put ourselves in a really great position.

Australia is hoping for luck as the showers save them on the final day

It would be somewhat regrettable if we didn’t at least have the chance to go out there today and give ourselves a good chance to take those final wickets… Root told cricketmood, “If we go out there, we’ll throw everything at it like we’ve done all week and hopefully that’ll be enough.

Notably, in the current Ashes Test, England needs five more wickets to win the match while Australia behind by 61 runs. Australia needs a significant partnership from Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green, who are batting in the middle, in case Day 5 of the match sees action resume.
